World Congress of Nephrology

The International Society of Nephrology’s (ISN) biennial World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) ‘Sustainability and Diversity’ will be held in Vancouver, Canada from April 8-12, 2011. WCN 2011 is the leading "world congress" of nephrology, not only providing a world-class scientific programme, but also reflecting the unique role of the International Societies' efforts to advance renal care in both the developed and the developing world. WCN attracts attendance from the worldwide nephrology community, including physicians, academicians, and clinical researchers, as well as other healthcare professionals involved in multidisciplinary nephrology care. WCN 2011 is organized by the International Society of Nephrology in cooperation with the Canadian Society of Nephrology.

ISN Announces Fellowship Awards

In a new initiative, the ISN is inviting applications a fellowship program for DM/DNB students.  The  fellowship duration will be 4-8 weeks. In the application, the area for which training is desired needs to be spelt out in  50-100 words defining the need and the training goals. This statement should preferably be prepared in consultation with both the home as well as the host supervisors. The Applicants are free to choose the host center where they intend to go for fellowship, but will have to give at least 3 choices. They will need to obtain all required permissions from host/host centers including leave and the need for any fee. They will also need to make arrangements for their accomodation. The ISN support will cover travel, any tuition fee and reasonable living expenses. Applicants will have to provide the budgeted costs. All applications will be evaluated by a Committee, and its decision will be final. The applicants will have to submit an end of training report to the ISN, and feedback will also be taken from the home/host mentors. The deadline for the first round of applications is october 30, 2010.
