Mode of Abstract Submission
Electronic mode available on our website www.isn-india.com will be preferred and desirable. You can edit the abstract up to last date of submission using password facility. All information about the status of your abstract and date of presentation will be available on website by October 15, 2006.
Abstract submission by Post:
Hard copies of abstract may be submitted strictly on the abstract form mailed to you. Abstract form can also be downloaded from the website as well. Abstracts submitted on plain paper, as email attachment or exceeding the space provided for the abstract will not be entertained.
Abstracts must be submitted online on the website www.isn-india.com. Abstracts submitted by post will only be accepted if it could not be submitted on website due to any technical problems. The abstract should be mailed on the prescribed abstract form to the following address.

Oral Papers
Total of 45 oral papers, 18 in General Nephrology and 11 each in Dialysis and Renal Transplantation , 5 Award presentation will be accepted.
Poster Session
There will be two poster sessions of 1 ½ hour each on 30th November and 1st December 2006.
Best Paper Award
There will be two best paper awards in each category of poster session. The awards will be given during valedictory function. In addition, there will be one award for oral presentation in each category.
Travel Grants for Postgraduates
The eligibility criteria is as follows:
- The candidate must be post graduate student and should be preferably presenting author in the paper accepted for presentation. (Oral / Poster)
- Preference will be given to those who have not availed travel grant last year.
- Travel distance between the Venue Bhuwaneshwar and Institution of the applicant should be more than 500 km.
Applicants can send their application for travel grants on plain paper to the Secretariat, duly recommended and attested by the Head of Department. Application can also be downloaded from the website.
2. AWARDS & HONOURS OF INDIAN SOCIETY OF NEPHROLOGY
- K.S. Chugh Award Oration
Our Chief Guest Dr. T.K.S. Rao 525, Bunker Court, North Woodmere, NY 11581, U.S.A. will receive this award.
For following awards 7 copies of applications alongwith manuscript should reach the Secretariat before August 1, 2006: -
- Khullar Award Oration
Any member can apply for this Oration for his work done in any field of Nephrology in India.
- Bansal Award Oration
Member below the age of 40yrs can apply for this Oration for his work done in Nephrology in India.
- Rekha Tanker Memorial Award
- A total of four papers will be presented in the Award Session.
- Person presenting the paper must be less than forty years of age.
- Authors must submit seven copies of full paper to the Secretary of Indian Society of Nephrology before August 1, 2006.
- The paper should be based on original work done in India.
- The paper should not have been published or presented earlier in any national or international meeting.
- The Scientific Committee will shortlist maximum of four manuscripts and its decision will be final.
- The four papers thus short-listed will be published in the Indian Journal of Nephrology.
- While applying for this award the consent for the publication in the Indian Journal of Nephrology is by default and automatic and cannot be questioned.
- Three judges will decide the award based on the following criteria. Each criterion will carry 10 points:
a) Study design
b) Relevance of research work
c) Originality
d) Formatting
e) Discussion & Conclusions
- Janseen-Cilag Award for Excellence in Nephrology
The award instituted since 1999 is reserved for the members below the age of 40 years for the published research from India in the field of Chronic Renal Failure during the last four years. First author should obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the co-authors. Scientific Committee will decide the award based on the following criteria:
a) Study design
b) Relevance of research work
c) Originality
d) Formatting
e) Discussion & Conclusions
- Fellowship of Indian Society of Nephrology (FISN)
Members with minimum duration of membership of ten years should submit 7 copies of their bio-data along with details of the supporting data of their work and contribution in the field of Nephrology. Applications are screened and evaluated by the members of Credential Committee and their decision is ratified by the Governing Body.
